October Lanivet Percussion Session Morning - Tuesday 22nd October 2024

An awesome session today at Drums4Fun CIC's 'Multi Award Winning' Lanivet Percussion Session Morning for adults with learning difficulties and Autism and children with additional needs, at Lanivet Parish Community Centre. Probus Fun Week 2024 - Kids Sports & Fun Day - Saturday 17th August 2024

Another packed audience joined in our annual Drums4Fun CIC FREE percussion experience workshop at Blue Light Day 2024 at The Royal Cornwall Showground, Wadebridge. We were joined on stage by Newquay based learning disability group 'Gather & Grow' who we've been working with over a number of sessions in Newquay. Gather & Grow - Wednesday 26 June 2024

Drums4Fun CIC recently provided another workshop for Newquay based learning disability group 'Gather & Grow'. We were so impressed by the quality of their performing that we have asked them to feature as part of our performance at this years Blue Light Day 2024 on Wednesday 3rd July at the Royal Cornwall Showground, Wadebridge. See them on the Performance Stage from 11.50 a.m. Don't miss them.......they're great !!

Probus Percussion Session Morning - Wednesday 12th June 2024

A vast crowd attended this month's Probus Percussion Session Morning. Some fabulous vocals from Giles, Will, Sophie, Ben and Ritchie and our very own dynamic duo 'Star Wars' Ryan and Grace. See you all again next month !

Doubletrees School 'National Make Music Day' - Friday 21st June 2024

Drums4Fun CIC recently visited Doubletrees School as part of 'National Make Music Day' All students took part in a variety of Drums4Fun workshops, some of the more profound needs students utilising our special Soundbeam 6 music system and others exploring percussion instruments with their chosen favourite music. A great day was had by all. See you again next year! 

HFT Roselyn Resource Centre, Wadebridge 'BestFest'

A big crowd descended upon HFT Roselyn Resource Centre's garden for their annual fete, this year called 'BestFest' named by Aiden. Loads of people joined in with a number of Drums4Fun CIC sessions throughout the day. HFT's Drama Group and Music Group also provided amazing performances plus the very talented Daisy Mae who also wowed the crowd. A fabulous day.......see you next year !

IT'S OFFICIAL! We at Drums4Fun CIC are so very humbled and proud to announce that we have been awarded 'Music Workshop of the Year' at The South West England Prestige Awards 2023/24 for the fourth year in a row!! So many great thankful thoughts go out to our dedicated Drums4Fun CIC Volunteer Team, without whom, this award would not be possible. You've helped massively in making Drums4Fun CIC what it is today.  Thoughts also go out to my late wife Jeanette and late father Chris Kemp, both of whom were huge inspirations and without them this dream may never have been possible - they dared to believe in the dream!

Another huge crowd descended upon Probus Village Hall for our monthly Probus Percussion Session Morning. Loads of regular attendees plus newbies Sarah , James W and James D. Drums4Fun CIC made a return to one of our established regular customers, Barchester Group's, Kernow House Care Home, Launceston. To quote Activities Co-Ordinator, Bea Porup "We had a fantastic afternoon with Graham from Drums4Fun CIC, we played percussion instruments , sang and made a load of noise! It's really fun imagining you are the greatest musician ever and using a microphone to sing along, it makes it so much more believable!" We'll be back again in May!

A huge crowd descended upon Probus Village Hall for the largest Drums4Fun session ever held there! So much fun with amazing vocals from a number of newbies and our regulars Susan, Giles and William. See you all again next month on 15th November! October also saw the presentation of Long Service Volunteer Awards to Grace (four years) and DJ Ryan (three years) and the whole Volunteer Team there together. Drums4Fun Team Xmas Meal will be on Friday 15th December.

Drums4Fun CIC are proud to and privileged to announce that we have been awarded a further 12 month contract for 2024 with Longview Care Home, Goonhavern, a leading, privately owned, care provider in Cornwall for adults 65+ living with Dementia, to provide monthly percussion experience workshops for their residents. Drums4Fun CIC provided FREE workshops for Probus Fun Week Carnival Day at the Probus village Sports Field. We were joined by a wide variety of  people of all ages both young and old. Requested music ranged from Imagine Dragons and Dua Lipa to Elvis Presley! Loads of fun, singing and laughter. Thanks to Graham Bishop for the loan of his marquee for the event. And that was not all!! oh no! 6 p.m. saw the return of the famous Probus Carnival Procession led by the Carnival Queen and Carnival King. A wide variety of very imaginative floats including The Hawkins Arms, Barbie, Super Heroes and Pirates took part.... and we joined in with our very own Drums4Fun van. Roll on next year!

Drums4Fun CIC collaborated with local special needs school Doubletrees School, St. Blazey Gate, St Austell on Wednesday 21st June as part of the celebration of 'National Make Music Day'. The whole day of musical appreciation incorporating our Soundbeam 6 musical soundscape system which is designed to support children with more profound needs was thoroughly enjoyed by all the learners at staff. Particularly enjoying dance moves to 'Gangman Style' and various vocals from the learners #MakeMusicDay

I'm Still Here - Friday 30th June 2023

Drums4Fun CIC provided two very different percussion experience workshops for 'I'm Still Here' a Support Group for people living with early onset Dementia and their partners. Friday 23rd June was a sensory story session where we accompanyed storyteller extraordinaire Henry Austeick using our unique Soundbeam 6 system. Henry took us on a journey through India experiencing the sounds and smells of this exotic country, hosed by Penryn based arts space, The Fish Factory. On Friday 30th June we were based in the beautiful surroundings of the a Penryn based community garden project, Loveland. The 1980's music theme included music from Aztec Camera, The Buggles, The Eurythmics, Adam and The Ants and many more! A small but beautifully formed group of enthusiastic people enjoyed experimenting with our full range of percussion. Many thanks to Jessica Voke for organising and to Kirsty of Cornwall Memory Network and Marcus from Cornwall Community Foundation for joining in!

Well.... another momentous Drums4Fun workshop day at HFT Roselyn Resource Centre's Annual Garden Party in Wadebridge. There was some absolutely fabulous drumming, dancing and singing throughout the day. Fantastic vocals from Hannah, Kirsty, Linda, Toby, Colin, Francis and many more. The garden was bathed in sunshine and many more people joined in from the garden with a wide range of djembes, tambourines, maracas, jingle sticks, wrist bells and triangles. Cultivator Event - Saturday 27th May 2023

Drums4Fun CIC provided one of our percussion experience workshops for a Cultivator Event , organised by Vick Bain, campaigner #womeninmusic and Founder of the F-List CIC, a PhD researcher in equality, diversity & inclusion in the music industry. This networking event was organised in conjunction with Cultivator for creative women organisations based in Cornwall. The two sessions in the magnificent Cornish Bank music venue in Falmouth, were so much fun, with much laughter, singing, great drumming and dancing. Thanks so much to Pip for her energetic dancing and singing to The Prodigy's 'Firestarter' it will live long in the memory banks .....so much fun!!

Cornwall Federation of Women's Institutes - Friday 19th May 2023

Drums4Fun CIC were proud an privedged to provide one of our workshops for The Cornwall Federation of Women's Institutes at their Headquarters at Threemilestone, Truro. A morning of fun, laughter, great drumming and singing was had by a large crowd of ladies from various WI groups from around the county. We'll be back!!

King Charles lll Coronation Celebration Weekend - Sunday 7th May 2023

Drums4Fun CIC provided a fun Family Workshop at The Hawkins Arms, Probus on Sunday 7th May from 12.30 to 2.30 p.m. as part of Probus village's celebration of King Charles III Coronation Celebration Weekend.  A big crowd enjoyed two hours of musical mayhem, with loads of amazing drumming, singing, dancing and of course laughter, with music from the 1960's to 2020's. 

Roborough House - Thursday 13th April 2023

Drums4Fun CIC were making their monthly visit to Roborough Hose Care Home, near Plymouth, when we were spectacularly joined by a very talented young singer Eonie Domyslawski, who along with his Mum and Nan was visiting his great uncle Kelvin. Our regular crowd of residents thoroughly enjoyed his renditions of Tears For Fear's 'Everybody Wants To Rule The World, Andy Williams's "Can't Take My Eyes of You' and Bob Marley's 'Three Little Birds' Thank you Eonie!

Drums4Fun CIC returned yesterday to Kernow House Care Home, Launceston, part of the Barchester Care Group. The room was filled with fun and laughter, some amazing drumming, singing and dancing. Firm proof that music and song heals the soul and reaches the inner depths of the mind. Anxiety, and stress dissipate, and well-being, mental health improves and self-esteem expands! See you all again in July.....cannot wait!!

A hugely enthusiastic capacity audience came along to our annual 'Christmas Special' and Probus Village Hall rocked to the sounds of all your favourite Christmas songs! Loads of favourite Christmas jumpers were on display and everyone enjoyed their FREE mince pies! Amazing vocals as usual from Danni, Giles, Asa, Derek, Will and our very own volunteer 'Mr. Elvis' himself - Johnathan Charnock. Probably the largest audience in Drums4Fun history.

What an amazing large crowd that attended this month's Probus Percussion Session Morning, for adults with learning difficulties and autism.... Probus Village Hall was rocking to the very roof tiles!

Loads of fabulous vocals from newbie Danny singing Take That's "Could It Be Magic" and The Black Eyed Pea's "I Gotta Feeling", Asa belting out Bananarama's "Love In The First Degree" and Five's "Keep On Movin' " William Pace with some Michael Jackson songs, Susan singing Neil Diamond's "Sweet Caroline" and finally newbie Matt singing and dancing to Queen's "We Will Rock You". Certainly one of the liveliest sessions for a very long time! You guys rocked! Spread the word, spread the love Drums4Fun Probus sessions are back with a bang!!

Thanks as always to my amazing Volunteer team of 'Star Wars' Ryan, Grace, Johnathan, Leo and Rhys. This set up would now not happen without you guys! See you all next month on Wednesday 21st December for our 'Christmas Special'. Don't forget your Christmas jumpers!

Debutant Leo wowed the crowd with his vocals and accordion! Philip C-J entertained us with some stunning vocals and Will strutted his stuff with some amazing dance shapes!
